After leaving Melbourne, we had one more day at sea before we arrived at our final port of call on the morning of the 29th. We decided to spend three nights in Sydney before flying home to LAX.
It was a wonderful vacation overall, but it could have been better if we had more time to spend at our cities or places of choice. Next time, we may try to spend an entire vacation in just one place to really get to know it...like spending a month or two and live like a local and not a tourist.
We were treated to a baked Alaska candlelight parade at dinner the night we spent the full day at sea.

Australia tops my list of to visit countries! I enjoyed looking at your photos especially of the blue mountain, beautiful!
Wow nice shots, I wish I could visit Australia too :-)
sarap makinood sa photos mo; feeling ko nag cruise na din ako. :)
"but it could have been better if we had more time to spend at our cities or places of choice"
That's what we get when we signed in a package tour. Nangyari sa amin yan sa HK and Shenshen (China). They tour us in a lot of places but only spent an hour or two on each one. Most of the time was spent time running, trying to catch the tour bus schedule. We were there but miss a lot of things.
I would love to do a cruise like that !
Wow you have some very colorful pictures here! A cruise is one of my yet unfulfilled dreams ;)
Wow! What time did you take that photo of BOndi Beach?!
I haven't been to the Blue Mountain, lalo na sa Blue Canyon. Sana makakarating din po ako sa mga places na 'to.
I agree with what you said, we really need to spend at least a month in a place to know more about it.
thess and Missy, Australia is a country not to be missed.
Photo Cache, give it a try. It is a fun and relaxing way to travel.
BlogusVox, I know what you went through LOL. So much to see, so little time.
Sydney and Dennis, do it. I didn't think much of it till I tried it; now it is one of my preferred way to travel and see places.
RJ, I took that photo about ten in the morning.
The places you mentioned are within your driving range - the next time you have your vacation, packed up your car with your camping gears and go! Better still take some friends with you, split the costs of a car rental, gas, camping fees or lodgings and see as much of the continent as you can. Just choose your friends well or you will no longer be friends at the end of the trip LOL.
Wow, i love this. it makes me want to go to sydney. Loved the Opera house shot, it gives a fresh raw perspective:D
dailyphotographer, thanks for dropping by. Be sure to include Sydney in your list of cities you want to visit.
Kakainggit talaga mag cruise, sana makapagcruise uli ako and hopefully sa Australia naman. Thanks for sharing.
Sardonyx, it is not an improbable wish. It is just a matter of when you want to do it.
Ganyan din ako -marami akong gustong gawin but it is me stopping me most of the time and nobody else...and often, I do not know why LOL.
Don't even think, just go!
This looks s fun! You thoroughly enjoyed your vacation as I can see in your photos :)
Blue Mountains, wow, I used to look at its photo in my mom's Reader's Digest Natural Wonders of the World and its one one of those I want to visit, along with Death Valley, Baja and the Singing Sand Dunes of Morocco :)
What gorgeous photos. I have never been there but have friends who have traveled there and loved it. I'll have to visit soon. Thanks BTW for the comment on my blog.
julie,if you are going to visit Death Valley, do it in wintertime and you might as well include Vegas and the Grand Canyon in one trip. Believe me Grand Canyon is a sight not to miss. BTW, thanks for your advice re my grandson.
jodapoet, thanks for dropping by. You'll love it, too - go visit the place when you get the chance.
