Oahu, Hawaii 2006
This was an off-the-cuff trip made when I ran into a 5 night hotel plus airfare deal that is too good to ignore. Tourism was down because of the wet weather the islanders were having so they offered a lot of freebees to encourage visitors to come. The weather was not that bad. There was enough sunshine between light drizzle to heavy downpour to make the unplanned vacation an enjoyable one. In fact, I liked it so much because it reminded me of the Philippines during its rainy season.

Looks like a wonderful place to go on vacation!
Lucky you!
Sidney, thanks for visiting! Hawaii is a favorite place of mine but everything there is getting more expensive to the discomfort of my wallet LOL.
Hi Bert. Thanks for your suggestion. I've actually been to Yosemite in 2001 and loved the place. Back then we wanted to go camping but had read about the bears and got scared they might smell our food. you know how Filipinos are, we love to eat. Haha! I think I'll take your advice though and go to the US instead. There will be time to go to China in the future. ciao!
wow, great shots. I particularly love your sho of Hanauma Bay. I've never been to Hawaii. Would love to go there someday.:D
Jane,if you are going to camp inside the park, the rangers usually make a round before nightfall reminding campers to store their foodstuffs in the secured lockers provided nearby. I think the danger from bears inside the park is overblown. I feel safest inside any national park, from man and beast, than in a typical seedy part of any US of A or foreign city after dark LOL.
dailyphotographer, you'll never go wrong visiting Hawaii and its many islands. Just stay away from the tourist infested areas unless you want your wallet to lose weight LOL.
wow..i've been out of blog circulation for less than a month and i have already missed so many interesting places and pictures in this blog.
this post on hawaii i really interesting. i think that i'll enjoy it too if i go there myself, just by looking at your pics here. it's like a whole new and colorful culture out there.
I'm sure you will enjoy Hawaii...the islands and its multicultured and ethnically diversed people.
my sister in law took us to the Polynesian Cultural Show last 2004. we enjoyed it so much! there was so much to see and learn about hawaii no!
actually, the whole place sorta reminded me of our Nayong Pilipino before. too bad our Nayong Pilipino was torn down na... sayang...
