Mikonos, Greece

The travel distance from Kusadasi to Mikonos is only 102 miles but the ship took all night cruising the Mediterranean Sea so we arrived at port about 7:00 am, just the way it was scheduled. My wife and I have been to this island before but we spent the bulk of our time onshore visiting the neighboring island of Delos to see the famous archeological ruins there. This time we just hang out in Mikonos.

This is how I spend the early morning whether the ship is at port or at sea - walking around the ship for an hour or two.

Toilet sentinel!

Very narrow streets

She became a more interesting subject to watch - thanks to the wind.

Fish cleaning

A mini-farmer's market?

I can sit here all day, drink beer and stare at the ocean. Yeah, right!

This island is inundated with tourists!

I took a leisurely walk back to the ship instead of using my prepaid bus ticket.

Mikonos is a beautiful place -- thanks for sharing it through your photos. The windmill-like structures are interesting.

"She became a more interesting subject to watch - thanks to the wind." --what, the ship or the lady on the next photo?

forget mikonons and that gorgeous ship; your 16th photo in this post with those pronated bottoms of bikini clad women is one of your best captures to date! i bet your wife will agree! hahaha!

Hahaha. I laughed out loud reading those captions on bikini-clad girls. I'll sit beside you, sir.

Mikonos is famous for their windmills. Looks non high tech but I assume that it produces energy similar to our Bangui windmills in Ilocos. :)

LOL on the more interesting thing to watch than that of the others... hehhehee...

You amused me there.

inggit me. very exotic ang dating ng greek islands to me. i could sit there and munch on something while i watch the day go by. very relaxing ang atmosphere.

Geoge,I enjoy Mikonos, the island, but I enjoy the people (I think 80%tourists like me) and everything else about it.

docgelo, actually the California girls beat them hands down or whatever else is down LOL.

Rizalenio, I think those windmills are made to attract tourists and not to generate energy.

You are welcome to sit by me and I'll buy the beer for company.

sheng, it is a target of unintended opportunity LOL.

Photo Cache, it is relaxing just to sit there and think how life is good....even if it truly isn't.

I suppose the boat was very slowly moving, perhaps circling around all night just to get to the next port promptly as scheduled.

You do know where to frame your shots - be it the water or some mounds of flesh haha!

bertN said...

The Nomadic Pinoy, the distance from Long Beach to Catalina is only 22 miles, but it always take cruise ships the whole night to go there LOL.

Hahaha. Funny yung pic with women in bikinis!

My fave pic would be those windmills. Are they dilapidated or ganun talaga hitsura nila? They're very interesting.

Christian | Lakad Pilipinas said...

nice looking windmills, are they real?

bertN said...

Reena, talagang ganoon ang hitsura. Prop lang, hindi tunay.

Christian, they are not real. The few that I entered are small shops selling touristy items.

Wow, Mykonos looks really beautiful! When I was in Greece last March, I was thinking of going there as well, but I ended up going to Santorini. Okay na rin. Hopefully when I get back, I can get to the other Greek islands as well.

bertN said...

Aleah, I want to see more of the Greek islands, too. Maybe do a little bit of fishing on the side.

Those mills are so famous sa mga photographs, sa Mikonos pala yan. I will surely have my photo taken with those cyclades 'pag makarating ako dyan.

In Melbourne kapag narrow na ang daan tinatawag nilang Lane. Ano kaya ang tawag nila sa Greece?

bertN said...

BlogusVox, we'll both be looking at collateral views LOL.

RJ, after you complete your doctorate, you'll have all the time in the world to go places.
Sa Pinas ang tawag yata sa very narrow streets ay iskinita.

Kuya....

magupdate ka naman. excited na to see the rest of the cruise eh, tutal tapos na US Open coverage :)

Photo Cache, you just punctured the bubble of idleness that surrounds me. It is tough to be retired...you'll know why when it is your turn LOL. You have all the time to do everything and accomplishes nothing.

"Stare at the ocean" lol. I randomly watched in-flight the movie Life in Ruins; it's a nice (tour film) about Greece. Meron dung small scenes sa nude beach.
