Last week our family went to Yosemite for a 5 day camping and lodging. Our children stayed at the Housekeeping Camp for a couple of nights and us oldies, stayed at the Yosemite Lodge where the kids joined us for the remainder of our stay inside the park. I love tenting in the great outdoor but my wife hates camping at any level. To entice her to join us, I have to booked us at a lodge where you have the comforts of a hotel and the price that comes with it LOL. Two hundred bucks per night for a room that does not even have air-conditioning! Admittedly the view is great but it is no better than an ordinary roadside motel that costs fifty bucks give or take a few.

Very nice shots. Merced grove is also a very nice place to see the big trees. Not as many people.

wow. the view of the place got me drooling all over. fantastic. it is a landscapists dream place.
dyosa and lawstude, there are other spots in the park that are more scenic but it takes some hiking and proper timing seasonwise. I went to check out a famous waterfall but it was all fall and no water at this time of the year LOL.
great pictures. coincidentally, i was looking at random pictures of the hike to half dome today. have you ever climbed? someday i will...once i become a more experienced hiker :)

xd, I am now a grandfather and climbing is not as much fun for me than it used to be. If you want to hike and climb, do it now when you are at your prime. You do not need the experience as much as you need stamina. It is just one foot after another and a lot of caution and common sense LOL.
sardonicnell, thanks for the visit. When we were there, all the waterfalls were bone dry and the level of Merced River was probably at one of its lowest BUT the sceneries, as always, is spectacular and there is enough water in the river to make all water related activities enjoyable.
My kids had a great time and so did I.

But you know it has some similarity to Anawangin, Zambales as I had featured in my blog. Only, there are no mountain lions, deers, nor bears at Anawangin. Can we plant those? LOL
