This river that cuts across the road fronting our hotel is covered with vegetation along the bank unlike the ones in our place where rivers are paved with concrete like giant canals and are dry for most of the year.
The road is almost devoid of traffic and this is rush hour!
We spent the rest of the morning catching up on our sleep but in the afternoon we decided to check out "Venice of America" so called because of its canal system, which is wider and cleaner than the one I saw in Venice, Italy.
I wonder who the occupants are of this mansion? Probably the caretakers for most of the year LOL. Most of the homes here belong to the rich, the super rich and the disgustingly filthy rich. Some are poor their yacths cost more than their homes. I feel sorry for these guys whose $40 million yacth is park near their $20 million home. I cry for their misfortunes.

I won't mind working as a caretaker for that mansion!
Pinay Travel Junkie, and you get paid for doing so. You'll have to line up behind me LOL.
I also feel sorry for those poor people whose yachts cost more than their homes. I do think Fort Lauderdale got it's nickname honestly. The waterways are beautiful.
Oh so you flew south for the Holidays. Impressive waterways. Must be fun to explore by water.
Happy Holidays.
Wow, I've never been to Florida yet and I'm planning to visit that soon ;-) Nice views and nice boat trip you got to see those expensive mansions. And you're correct I feel sorry for them to park their yachts in front of their $20M home hahaha, you're so funny BertN, are you related to Bert Nievera? lol
George, you have a soft spot in your heart like me, for these economically challenged s.o.b. and their creative tax shelters. Inspite of them or because of them, the waterways are indeed beautiful.
Photo Cache, it is fun exploring their canal system but we did not have the luxury of time. Maybe next time na naman LOL.
Sardonyx, don't forget to check out Epcot in Orlando when you visit Florida.
Lucky for Bert Nievera, I'm not related to him.
Been to Fort Lau where a couple of friends live. My most memorable experience? Sneaking into a nudist beach and seeing everything that may or may not be pleasant to the eyes. LOL!
ME, thanks for dropping by. I certainly will visit your blog.
The Nomadic Pinoy, I'll check out these beaches the next time I visit assuming my CIC (Commander-in-Chief) is not with me LOL.
What? no garage for his yacht? Probably the poorest guy in the block! >: D
It's like hollywood. But instead of actor's houses, they show you the mansions of the rich and famous.
Merry Christmas to you and your family!
BlogusVox, I do not know what these poor guys do when there's a hurricane. They probably sail their yachts out to sea and ride it out.
Maligayang Pasko din sa iyo at iyong pamilya!
I think I like this part of Florida! Quite different from Miami and looks as if it has more to offer. The sky looks really pretty.
Are you drawing up list of resolutions for 2011?
Many thanks for your patience, and for visiting Norwich Daily Photo and leaving your comment. Come visit again tomorrow!
Joy, I quit making resolutions a long time ago. I just disappoint myself consistently.
