Japanese Tea Garden, Golden Gate Park, San Francisco

This garden is an oasis of calm in an oasis of calm. There is nothing extraordinary about the place but there is an IT about it that I cannot explain.

This is where they serve the tea and the rest is the garden...

I chanced upon these European kids pictorially documenting their visit to the garden.

Who needs Xanax when there's a calming oasis like this out there?

i like japanese gardens. did you know that i study the japanese art of arranging plants? basta i joined ikenobo here in Pinas. mahirap siya. they follow a certain structure.

I've always found oriental gardens -- Japanese or Chinese -- to be very peaceful and relaxing. The tea served in those gardens is pretty good, too.

The Nomadic Pinoy, you can say that again!!

Reena, is ikenobo as difficult as ikebana or are they the same animal?

George, they are indeed.

I wish I could escape to this garden right now. At least I could virtually, even for a few minutes. I needed that.

Thank you, Bert.

i love japanese gardens from its wooden bridges to those japanese torii or arches and gates to how they grow their lush greens, ang galing! it always boasts of tranquility and yes, a breather from a stressful urban city.

Hilda, I have that kind of feeling every so often.

Rizaleneo, it's been a long, long time since I visited Tagaytay. It's probably a different place now from what I remembered.

RJ, you do need a break from worrying about your Mom's health and your demanding job. Btw, how is she doing now?

docgelo, I share your love of Japanese gardens and Japanese food. No comment about Japanese girls LOL.

I noticed that for the first hour after the garden opens admission is still free.

There is a Japanese Garden in Luneta but what you featured here is a lot better.

Traveler on Foot, I'd like to visit that garden in Luneta when I get a chance. I understand there's a lot more to see and enjoy in Luneta now.

Everything looks so pretty. Very zen!

Looking forward to the weekend?

Many thanks for visiting Norwich Daily Photo and leaving your comment. Come visit again tomorrow!

I echo the comment of Traveler on Foot. The Japanese Garden in Luneta is just so small while this one is way way better...

This is a beautiful garden. Very Zen... lovely.
Must cost a lot to maintain such a garden.

bertN said...

Joy, I agree.

dodong flores, it is well-maintained but there's a fee to get in.

Sidney, I think so. The admission fee is not enough to cover the cost.
