Las Vegas early in the morning

My wife and I went to Las Vegas to attend the 21st birthday celebration of a niece. We only stayed there for the party, spent a few hours at the casino, then head back to our hotel. Very early the next morning, I took a long walk at the strip for a couple of hours. I shot a few pictures along the way but most of them came out dull LOL. After a typical Pinoy breakfast at one of the many Pinoy restos located several blocks east of The Strip, my wife and I returned to LA.

This was taken about 6 am

If you enlarge the pic, you will read "All-you-can-eat, all day $24" at Rio's World Buffet

Going there is hanggang sa pangarap lang for now. Ang ganda din pala diyan. Your photos show it...
I'd love to try that All-you-can-eat, all day $24 :)

Thanks for taking me to the city kung saan naglalaban ng boxing si Manny Pacquiao. Wala po ba kayong nakuha sa MGM Grand?

The pictures remind me of the movie '2012', as well.

waaa you made me jealous and miss Vegas now :-'( My last time we went there was Dec 2003 before we moved to Hawaii so I didn't see Wynn hotel yet. I remember when we used to live in Long Beach, CA, one time we drove to Vegas with my friend's family without any plans just right there in my friend's house, we left at 2:30am and got there like 7am, walked around the strip and took some pictures, ate breakfast buffet in Circus Circus, played in the game arcade and drove back home around 11am, weird huh? and we spent 4 hrs in Barstow Outlet on our way back...we didn't gamble in Vegas hahaha but we spent our money to outlet stores LOL

By the way I love your shots, I wish I could go back there and take some pictures too.

I haven't been to Vegas but hopefully I can visit the place soon. I always see hundreds of people milling about in the streets of Vegas and so looking at your photos was very refreshing.

Mas maganda pala ang Vegas kapag walang tao. One can focus more on the architecture and grandeur of the place. :)

That's the secret to getting great pix without the crowd, get up early :D

If and when I get to go back I'd certainly try that.

Wonderful pix.

In my own opinion, this is also a good place to celebrate Valentine's Day if you can't go to Europe. I don't know, maybe it's just me.
Belated Happy Valentine's Day. I hope you and your wife had a blast ;)

Reena, I'm sure you'll be able to visit Las Vegas in the future; I am not sure you'll win at the casino though LOL. The house always wins at the end of the day.

Gita Asuncion, you do not need to gamble to enjoy Vegas but the temptation is so strong it is hard to hang on to your wallet.

the DonG, kapag hindi ka magpapasyal masisiraan ka ng bait sa kunsumi LOL.

dodong flores, I haven't tried the "All you can eat, all day" buffet yet. It is a relatively new gimmick here, but on cruise ships it is the norm and it is free.

RJ, I have pics of it but it was not taken on this particular day.

Missy, there's a lot more of everything now since your last visit in 2003. Time to revisit "Sin City" but leave your wallet at home.

dyosa, Vegas looks weird with empty streets and empty casinos. At night, people merrily walk up and down the streets with beer cans, cocktail drinks and what have you. It is like a party that never ends. It is a fun place to be. Right down your alley, dyosa!

Photo Cache, it is a different Vegas early in the morning.

dodong flores, there's no place on the planet that I know of that can compare to Las Vegas...at least, not yet. You do not need to carry a trunk load of money to have fun but it does help LOL. Happy Valentine's Day to you and your wife, too!

Kaya pala ang lakas kumain ng electricity ang Vegas, kahit wala ng tao sa streets in the early dawn, "on" pa rin ang mga ilaw.

Besides the glitz that attracts tourists, is the livelyhood in that city centered on gambling only?

bertN said...

BlogusVox, hindi lang sa electricity pati rin sa tubig masyadong maluho ang Vegas kung hindi sa Lake Mead at Hoover Dam Vegas will not be Vegas as it is known.

Gambling used to be "it", no longer so.

Las Vegas, the land of milk and honey, errr money. When will I ever get there? I wish i can leave Pinas too, and explore the world. Sigh. Daydreaming now when I just woke up.

Just when most visitors to LV are still asleep, you took the perfect time for some crowd-free photos. I've been there 3 times but never to gamble, always to watch certain shows. Hopefully next time - sana tamaan naman ako ng beginner's luck!

I enjoyed the pictures you took on your early morning walk. They are all very good, but I especially like the first two. I've never been to Las Vegas, but I would like to go some day.
Thanks for visiting my site.

shengmarie, keep your dreams alive, you are too young to quit dreaming. I did not get a chance to travel outside of Pinas till I was 32. By the way, we often refer to Las Vegas as the Los Wages for a good reason...or probably bad. LOL.

the Nomadic Pinoy, good for you! Don't even start gambling unless you have self-restraint. If you gamble, just risk what you budget for entertainment. There is no winner in Vegas but Vegas.

docgelo, looked like you pretty much covered the biggies when you were there! There are new ones on the block that will give you a reason to revisit - Wynn, Palazzo, Trump, Aria and much, much more. Just leave you wallet behind!

George, thanks for visiting. I'll be a regular visitor to your interesting blog. Educate me on RAW.

After gambling the night away I guess you are a very rich man now !

So many casinos! :-o

bertN said...

Peru, I haven't tried that "24 hour" deal yet. Maybe on my next visit to Vegas.

bing, win or lose, it is indeed a lively place.

Sidney, on the contrary........

Eat all you can for $24? All my Dutch friends will flip when they hear that ha ha!

Not only it was quiet during your early walk, must have been the best temperature too to walk the strips? Perfect time to shoot, your photos are wonderful!

thess, yeah, it is a unique gastronomic deal LOL. The weather was just right when I did my walk.
